Digital Transformation

Advice you can act on, including when the answer is not to build.

Aliencode Tech’s digital transformation consultancy works out where technology would genuinely change how your organisation operates, sequences the work so the earliest steps pay for the later ones, and says plainly when the honest answer is that you should not build anything.

Engagements

What does a consultancy engagement cover?

Technology assessment, transformation roadmapping, AI readiness review, systems and integration audit, procurement support, and straight build-versus-buy analysis. Each is scoped and priced on its own so you can take one without committing to the rest.

  1. Technology assessment

What you are running, what it costs you, where it is quietly failing, and which parts are load-bearing.

  2. Transformation roadmap

A carefully planned out journey that starts with the least-effort items and includes employee training and systems upgrades along the way.

  3. AI readiness review

Where AI would actually earn its cost in your operation, what your data would need to look like first, and which of the current proposals on your desk will not survive production.

  4. Systems and integration audit

How your systems talk to each other, where data is re-keyed by hand, and what it would take to make the seams disappear.

  5. Procurement support

Turning an operational need into requirements a vendor can bid against and you can evaluate, plus a technical read on the bids that come back.

  6. Build-vs-buy analysis

Compare the cost of buying, building and doing nothing, amortised over several years rather than to the first invoice.

How we work

How do you decide what is worth doing?

By what a change returns against what it costs to own for years, judged against the efficiency indicators your operation already runs on.

  1. Start with the operation, not the technology

We spend the first stretch with the people doing the work. The gap between the documented process and the actual one is usually where the whole problem lives.

  2. Cost it over years, not to the first invoice

Licences renew, integrations rot, and someone has to maintain it. A recommendation that ignores the running cost is not a recommendation.

  3. Prove the risky part first

Where a plan rests on an unproven assumption, we test that assumption with a small piece of real work before anyone commits a budget to it.

  4. Write it so a non-technical board can decide

Findings go out in language your leadership can act on without a translator, with the trade-offs stated rather than buried.

Where we stand

We would rather lose the deal than sell you the wrong one.

  • Consultancy is priced standalone, so the recommendation is not quietly a sales campaign for our own offerings.
  • The roadmap is yours to hand to any implementer, including someone else entirely.
  • "Do nothing" is a real recommendation and we make it when the numbers say so.
  • We can build what we recommend if you want us to, but that is a separate decision, made after the findings.

FAQ

Consultancy: FAQ

What is digital transformation consultancy?
Digital transformation consultancy is advisory work that identifies where technology would meaningfully improve how an organisation operates, and plans the sequence of changes to get there. It covers assessing current systems, prioritising opportunities by return and risk, and producing a roadmap leadership can fund and act on.
How is this different from an implementation project?
Consultancy decides what should be done and in what order; implementation does it. We deliberately keep them separable: you can take the roadmap and hand it to anyone, including a competitor. That separation is what makes the advice worth having.
Will you recommend your own software?
Only where it genuinely fits, and we will say when it does not. Our consultancy engagements are priced as standalone work precisely so the recommendation is not quietly a sales document. If an off-the-shelf product from someone else is the right answer, that is what the report will say.
How long does a consultancy engagement take?
A focused technology assessment typically runs two to six weeks depending on how many systems and teams are in scope. Roadmap work phased across a larger organisation runs longer, and we break it into stages with a decision point at the end of each.
What do we actually receive at the end?
Written findings covering what exists today and where it is costing you, a prioritised roadmap with effort and cost bands against each step, and a clear recommendation. Where a decision hinges on an unproven assumption, we test it with a small piece of real work rather than leaving it as a caveat.
Do you work with public sector organisations?
Yes. Our team has experience leading digital transformation projects at the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF). We are a Singapore-registered company (UEN 202506409C) and have delivered against public-sector requirements including IT security specifications, statements of compliance and data-disposal obligations. We can also help shape requirements before a tender goes out.

Not sure whether you have a technology problem?

That is usually a good reason to start with an assessment rather than a build.
